EXP Barbell Club ("EBC") was started here at CrossFit EXP as a way to help people improve their strength and technique with Olympic lifts (Clean & Jerk and Snatch).
This Club is meant as a supplement to normal CrossFit classes and will help you become stronger, more confident and comfortable when it comes to performing lifts that utilize the barbell.
EBC is open to both active members and non-active members of CrossFit EXP.
This club is meant as an intermediate/advanced class and is not intended for beginners or those just starting out with CrossFit (if that's you then please check out our normal class schedule).
In order to participate in the EBC participants must be proficient in all Olympic movements. (Clean & Jerk and Snatch)
EBC classes are 90 minutes in length and will focus on building strength and speed as well as improving mobility and technique for mastery of the Olympic lifts.
Each class will include high level coaching as well as a structured lifting program to help you take your Oly lifts to an entirely new level.

Coach Matt Ettinger, a former collegiate soccer player, has been coaching in some capacity for over 10 years. Having coached lacrosse, basketball, soccer, and track, Matt brings a lot of variety and experience to the table. Coach Matt began CrossFitting in 2011 and began coaching at EXP in 2012. Matt’s genuine love for learning motivates him to continuously expand his expertise in the areas of health and fitness.
Matt’s greatest passion in the gym is Olympic lifting. He has worked with several athletes doing private 1-on-1 training sessions and all have seen tremendous improvements in their lifts. The EBC is Matt's way of sharing his expertise, knowledge and coaching in Olympic lifts with the EXP community and all local athletes who want to improve their fitness and performance.
