What brought you into CrossFit EXP?
Most of my life I had been involved in sports, and was always running and biking, but was looking for something more. A friend & co-worker was a member at EXP and would always tell me about class, the lifts, and the workouts. I knew it was something I wanted to try. About the same time, I was lucky enough to win a gift certificate to EXP and signed up immediately, I’ve been a member ever since. A little over 4 years!
What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP?
From day one I was hooked! The coaches & members welcomed me right away. Everyone was extremely supportive, encouraging, and made me feel comfortable before, during, and after every class!
Why did you or what made you stay at CrossFit EXP?
Not only was I getting stronger & faster, but the community at CF EXP is the best part! Everyone is very nice and it’s fun to work out with a great group of people – members and coaches included!
What’s one accomplishment you’re proud of during your time at CF EXP?
I’m proud to have set a PR for my ½ marathon time. In the past, this distance typically required miles and miles of training. Once I started CrossFit, I was able to reduce the frequency of long road runs, but still improve my endurance. There is no question the strength & conditioning I gained from CrossFit allowed me to accomplish this goal!
What will you do next?
Double Unders – I’ll get them eventually! That and just try to improve as an all-around athlete/person – continue to show up, encourage others, and have fun!
What advice would you give someone who is interested in starting CrossFit?
My advice to anyone interested in starting CrossFit is don’t wait! Sign up for a class ASAP! Once you start, keep coming back and try your best, the results will follow. Whether you want to be stronger, faster, or improve the way you feel, CrossFit will help. The workouts can be scaled to all abilities, so don’t be afraid to give it a chance!
