“Hello all,  I wanted to introduce our October Member Highlight this Month, Kathy Hayward. She is regrettably and excitedly leaving  us after this month  to move to  NJ to be closer to her son and 2  grandsons, and we could not be happier for her and her  husband Marty. At the same time we as so bummed as Kathy is one  of the most exemplary EXP’ers ever.  Kathy started training at a bootcamp I was coaching over 12 years ago, and I noticed then how much untapped potential she had. At the  beginning every time that I tried to push her, she kept rising to the challenge. Her ability and pain threshold was far superior to most or all that I  trained in bootcamps back in the day. Q: What brought you in to CrossFit EXP? My wife and I were always trying different forms of exercise to get into shape. We came across an add for an EXP boot camp offer and decided to give it a shot.  I instantly fell in love with the workouts and intensity. Q: What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP? It was honestly a little intimidating at first, but once we tried it and learned that all movements could be modified to your abilities, that intimidating feeling disappeared and was filled with a feeling of confidence and determination. Q: What brought you in to CrossFit EXP? A couple things brought me into EXP, my friend (now husband) had started going to CrossFit in his area and was posting pictures of him lifting crazy weights and it peaked my interest. I knew Meg O did CrossFit and I asked her if I could try a class with her to see what it was all about. Q: What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP? My first impression was that everyone was really friendly, which is great when you’re a naturally shy/quiet person like myself. Pat was coaching my class that day and was really helpful with explaining the work out and answering any questions I had along with the others in class that day. Q: Why did you or what made you stay at CF EXP? Quite a few things, I was hooked after my first class. I couldn’t...

Dave is a father, husband, successful business owner & in the best shape of his life approaching his 50th Birthday in September! Q: What brought you in to CrossFit EXP? I joined 14 years ago when Patrick first started at Doyle Field and it wasn’t even Crossfit, it was Fitcamp. Nick was only 19 and a student at FSU.  Nick and Patrick were the only trainers. Class sizes were a lot smaller and cross training was relatively new. Q: What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP? I had a love/hate relationship with EXP early on.  I loved the way it made me feel but I hated the painful workouts.  Over the years I’ve learned to love burpees, snatches, back squats and more. Q: Why did you or what made you stay at CF EXP? I’ve always stayed with EXP because of the great coaching and community.  I’m turning 50...
