Growing up Dana had NO athletic background. In her own words she “was a genuine diehard coach potato.” As a young girl, Dana interpreted her “thicker” build as being overweight. From a young age, she developed an unhealthy bond with food. Food was her comfort and as she got older life got crazy; marriage, kids and the weight started to increase.
After giving birth to her forth son, she decided to make a change and walk the weight off. Walking turned into running, and then she hit a plateau of exercise boredom. She read about CrossFit, and then tried her first class and was hooked. It wasn’t until Dana joined EXP, that she finally discovered her hidden athlete inside. From her first visit to EXP she knew this was HOME! From watching and training with other strong woman at EXP, Dana was able to finally see her body not as big and thick, but strong and beautiful!
Just as the coaches at EXP helped her see what was truly inside herself, physically and mentally, she too want to help others find that in themselves.
Dana is a goal driven Coach and athlete, and believes that without setting goals (big and small) then you will find it difficult to make progress in and out of the gym. Whether it is the competitive athlete setting goals for their next comp or the triathlete who wants to better their time, or the member who wants to drop weight; Coach Dana wants to help you achieve the goals that you set for yourself!
Not only is Dana a coach and athlete but also a wife and mother. She has been married to her husband Jason for 22 years. Together they are currently raising 4 amazing young men and have 1 dog and 2 cats at home.
Dana loves Donuts, Coffee and Peanut butter! She uses an unhealthy amount of chalk in her workouts, and loves to work out to music really loud! (For some reason) she loves burpees, thrusters and long slow runs (slow like turtles running through molasses). Dana enjoys meal prepping on the weekends while jamming out to any 90’s music!
