Amy Fnine is from Fitchburg, MA, and now calls Charleston, SC home! Amy received her degree in Exercise Science at The College of Charleston which is where she found her passion for wellness. She is now currently working on her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture.
Growing up, Amy played basketball and soccer and then started CrossFit the summer after her first year of college. She stumbled into her first CrossFit class while visiting her sister in college and was immediately hooked. Amy joined EXP as her first CrossFit gym, shortly after in 2016. She continued to work out at EXP for several years during school breaks.
“Fitness has taught me the value of resilience, confidence, and camaraderie, and I started coaching at my gym down in Charleston, SC in 2022 in hopes of sharing it with others.
I really enjoy fostering an environment that yields not only physical results, but mental ones, too. The mental resilience I have built within the walls of the gym transfers to my ability to navigate challenges outside of the gym, and I want to help others feel just as empowered.”
How do you personally measure success in CrossFit workouts?
Success looks different for everyone, and can vary from day to day. For me, sometimes this looks like simply showing up to the gym to move my body after a long day of school, and other days it looks like setting a goal for myself to keep a specific movement unbroken throughout a workout. While hitting PRs is always fun, I think it’s really important to remember that progress is not always linear.”
