Q: What brought you in to CrossFit EXP?
Our children have been involved with CrossFit EXP for several years. Now we have become a family of multi-generational members. My husband has recently begun and our daughter, Thea and daughter-in-law, Stacey continue their fitness journeys; Stacey as a coach. Our oldest grandchild, Mason is now enjoying EXP as well as he participates in EXP Kids classes.
Q: What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP?
I was just amazed at the sight of so many very strong and competent athletes of all ages. Each coach and member was kind and helpful without exception. I was so appreciative of their inclusive attitudes and their generous verbal encouragement right from the beginning. As a “nooner” I have been fortunate enough and am so grateful to have the strong support of Coach Pete.
Q: Why did you or what made you stay at CF EXP?
I was thrilled with how quickly I begin rejuvenating muscles and building new muscle mass as well. There was so much to learn and I was immediately waking up more engaged each day and looking forward to my daily workouts. CrossFit EXP, Leominster is an exceptional community and it’s a privilege to be a part of the membership.
Q: What’s one accomplishment you’re proud of during your time at CF EXP?
In November, I worked relentlessly to complete 100,000 meters of rowing. It’s so gratifying to be strong and feel and look younger. Squats, which were difficult before, are so easy now, as I turn 70!
Q: What will you do next?
I hope to improve my form when lifting, ideally increasing my back squat from 85 to 100 pounds. I will continue to increase my strength in order to progress with my push-ups and pull-ups. I’m looking forward to the arrival of spring and new outdoor running opportunities.
Q: What advice would you give someone who is interested in starting CrossFit?
Time is of the essence! Get stronger NOW! Regardless of your age or current athletic status, heighten your sense of well-being across all realms. As you strengthen your external self, you may also find yourself feeling more resilient in every way.
