Last week I asked the question “Why do we lift heavy in FitCamp?” and you all had some great answers you posted to comments.  This week I wanted to give you my top 5 reasons we lift heavy and an explanation (for all you believers and skeptics) of why it’s so good for you. 1) You Gain Lean Muscle – When you lift heavy weights, gaining lean mass (muscle tissue) happens naturally. Why FitCamp Kids for my child when they play sports already? FitCamp Kids is a fitness program that is broad and general, we do not specialize in any one sport or activity. We focus on the basic functional activities that you probably engaged in growing up. We ask children to PUSH, PULL, RUN, THROW, CLIMB, LIFT AND JUMP.  Through these basic movements children not only have fun but they get fit in the most simple of ways. If you can teach them now that fitness is fun they are more likely to not only do it now but as they grow up too. Think of FitCamp as an indoor playground and we could all use one of those during the cold winter months.
