CrossFit EXP hosts Barbells for Boobs for cancer awareness

Join CrossFit EXP in Leominster as it puts its pink power to the test during the third annual Barbells for Boobs on Saturday, October 25, at 9am.

CrossFit EXP will again be joining forces with athletes across the nation to fundraise for Barbells for Boobs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer in men and woman under the age of 40. As part of the Barbells for Boobs mission, the goal is for every $80 raised, one more person will know if they are living with breast cancer. Last year this community-centric crossfit gym raised over $3000 as participants completed a specific work out to earn sponsored donations from friends, family, and the community.On October 25, join CrossFit Exp in completing the “Grace” workout, which involves 30 clean & jerks for time, scalable to all levels from beginners to seasoned athletes.

How it works: CrossFit EXP teams up with Barbells for Boobs to create a team page at All participants are encouraged to share this page through their social media channels, organizing a team-centric fundraising effort to reach a new CrossFit EXP goal that exceeds last year’s $3000 donation (cash and checks are also welcome the day of event). On October 25, all levels of crossfit clients, friends, and families perform the workout in front of a cheering crowd of supporters.

CrossFit EXP coach Tiffany Normandin says this community event really brings together athletes of all types for a single cause. “Our event is open to everyone and often friends and families of our members participate or at least come by to watch and cheer people on,” she shares. Men and women show up in pink of all sorts, says Normandin, and the gym itself gets a pink makeover­—from the barbells to the weights.
