Q: What brought you in to CrossFit EXP? I found Crossfit EXP when I was at the lowest point in my life, stuck in an abusive relationship and frustrated with emotional eating and cyclical behaviors. Every year, I’d gain and lose 70lbs. with no real concept/direction of how to long term keep weight off and manage stress in a healthy way. Q: What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP? At first, it was intimidating because when I walked in, I was at just about my heaviest at 303 pounds and I could only do two sit-ups, zero lunges and zero burpees, but it was an encouraging place where modifications made the work doable. Q: What brought you in to CrossFit EXP? I had recently moved to Leominster and changed jobs. I was in search for a new box. After extensive research and asking around the CrossFit community I was Pointed in the direction of EXP. Q: What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP? The community was so welcoming! Coach Pete was the first person I met and he immediately made me feel at home. Leaving one gym to go to another is a big deal and having someone there that was so positive right off the bat was huge. Q: What brought you in to crossfit? I was feeling out of shape, couldn’t seem to motivate myself, and I knew I needed to make a change. Running used to be a big part of my life, and I was looking for something to help get me back into exercise. I saw an advertisement on Facebook for the 6 week EXP Bootcamp, so I took a chance and never looked back.  Q: What was your first impression of CrossFit EXP? It was a little overwhelming at first, in regards to the workouts, but everyone was so helpful and the coaches did a great job modifying the workouts to my comfort level.  Q: Why did you or what made you stay at CF EXP? Q) Tell us a little bit about yourself? A) I recently turned 60 years old. I have completed 20 marathons, 2 triathlons, played 6 years in an over 30 baseball league, played 25 years in the Fitchburg Mens Basketball League ( 2 titles won), coached 16 years at St. Bernard’s Elementary School boys 7/8 grade basketball team. Q) What did you do before you joined EXP? A) I was working out in the AM and the afternoon. A lot of cardio with some strength training, on my own. Q) What was your first class like?
