I’ll be the first to admit that the music mixes we have been listening to at the studio are getting a little old.  We’ve been searching around for some options and a bunch of great ideas have been circulating the FitCamp back office on getting some new tunes, (Satallite radio, Pandora, Nick & Tiff’s Wedding Mix CD).  All good ideas but we have decided it would be best to get YOUR input and what better way than to have a…   FitCamp MUSIC Contest! The Details:  All this week you can submit your very own personal music mixes of your most motivating, inspiring, “get-you-through-the-last-set-of-FRAN” workout songs.  The mixes will be played all NEXT week and members can vote after each class by giving a score of 1-10 for that days mix.  The numbers will be totalled and averaged for the day and the person who gets the highest score will be the Music Contest...

A message from Irene: “Good Morning Patrick and Nick,   Just finished the “Anger Management” class and was riding home thinking Wow! I can’t believe I finished that class. Two years ago I would not have finished it at all. I would still be doing the pull ups as we speak, and a year ago I might on a good day be on the double unders (curse those double unders) but today I finished the WHOLE work-out. That is a major accomplishment for me. I never thought at this point in my life that I would be the most physically fit that I have ever been. Yesterday I received an e-mail from Chris N. from the 6:30am class that was very disturbing.  It was a link to an article published by USA Today.  The title, “USA is Fattest of 33 Countries”.  After reading the article I sat back for a moment and felt two emotions, one was disgust and the other…pride.  I felt disgusted because we as a country have gotten so out of control with our health and completely lost with our priorities that we have 72 million obese people walking the streets today.  I was proud by the fact that we as the FitCamp community, both staff and members alike, are actually doing something about it and making a difference.  Maybe not on the grandest of scales at a national level but we are certainly making a difference to those closest to us.  You may not realize this but you make a difference every day.  Sometimes it’s the high-5 after class, the...

Last week we launched our brand new FitCamp Elements program with great success.  A lot of you have asked about this program and how it is different than a normal FitCamp class.   To best answer this question here is a letter from one of our first Elements graduates, Lynn. “I thought the Elements class was a really thorough introduction to the philosophy and techniques used at Ultimate FitCamp.  I think the emphasis on nutrition is really important because it’s easy to fool yourself into thinking that working out is enough to get where you strive to be.   I feel a lot more confident going into class now that I have an understanding of what the moves are and how to execute them properly.  There is definitely still a learning curve and I’m sure there will be blank moments where I forget what exactly a “push-jerk” is, but I’m glad to have learned the basics of each...

I came across this video yesterday and it made me think about all the excuses people make for not being able to fit in exercise, eat a clean diet or keep their health in check.  The reality is that health is the most important thing in each of our lives.  Without your health you have nothing and yet most people make excuse after excuse as to why they cannot squeeze in an hour a day of exercise or take the time to learn how to eat healthy.  I am a firm believer that if you say you are too busy to exercise, eat right and live healthy then you are just TOO busy.  So if you’re one of those people who can’t seem to get motivated to start living fit then check out this video and get inspired to do something about it today!  This video is an amazing story and shows that anything...
